Astana, 21 October. Astana police, together with the State Security Service, detained five men over 30 in rented flats who sold drugs through an online shop, including cookies filled with cannabis resin; 238 such cookies were seized.
The shop worked on an "organiser — packer — warehouse keeper — stash courier" hierarchy: each was responsible for his part of the chain, from purchase to hiding stashes. Besides the cookies, according to Tengrinews, the shop sold marijuana and resins.
Drugs disguised as sweets are especially dangerous because they can be mistaken for ordinary food, including by children, and a buyer cannot judge the dose in such a "treat".
What it means: A network that sold drugs online and disguised them as cookies has been dismantled in Astana.
Who benefits: Closing the shop protects buyers, above all the young people at whom "sweet" drugs are aimed; those detained face criminal liability for drug dealing.
Background: The shop was called Pepe, Tengrinews reports.
