Almaty, 22 October. The Kaspi.kz app now lets users register with a medical organisation: choosing a polyclinic and a doctor for free care under the guaranteed volume of free medical care and compulsory health insurance can now be done remotely, the company and the Ministry of Health said.

The service is in the "Government services" section. There users can see which medical organisation they are registered with, check their status in the compulsory social health insurance system, and choose a new clinic and attending doctor; a person can be registered with only one organisation, and the list of organisations to choose from is set by government bodies. The service was built jointly by the Ministry of Health, the Republican Centre for Electronic Health, the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, National Information Technologies JSC and Kaspi.kz.

"Together with government bodies, we create services that help people solve everyday tasks more easily. In the Kaspi.kz app you can already register your residence, receive state benefits and pensions, register a child's birth, re-register a car, obtain certificates and use many other government services," said Kaspi.kz head and co-founder Mikheil Lomtadze. Deputy Health Minister Yerbol Ospanov called the launch "another step in the development of digital healthcare and government services."

What it means: Another government service, choosing a polyclinic, has moved into a private app: people can register, change doctors and check their insurance status without going to the polyclinic or logging into the government portal.

Who benefits: Patients who change their polyclinic or doctor; according to Kaspi.kz, millions of citizens use the right to choose a medical organisation every year. Kaspi.kz widens the range of government services in its app, and the state the number of digital channels through which these services are available.

Background: Free medical care in Kazakhstan is provided under the guaranteed volume of free medical care and the compulsory social health insurance system; registration with a polyclinic determines where a person receives this care.
