Ashgabat, 29 October. The KSP Steel plant in Pavlodar has signed a contract with the state concern Turkmennebit to supply 11,000 tonnes of seamless casing pipes for Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry; the agreement was signed in Ashgabat at the OGT 2026 international conference, QazTrade said.

The pipes will be made at the KSP Steel plant in Pavlodar. Casing pipes reinforce the walls of oil and gas wells after drilling; Turkmennebit is the state concern that produces oil in Turkmenistan.

Trade between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in January–August 2026 grew by 9.3% year on year to $361.4 million, with Kazakh exports at $233 million. Metallurgy is on the list of 178 goods with which Kazakhstan proposed raising exports to Turkmenistan by $200 million.

What it means: Kazakh metallurgy has won a large order from the neighbouring country's main oil producer – an export of high value-added products rather than raw materials.

Who benefits: KSP Steel and Pavlodar – plant workload and jobs. Turkmenistan – well pipes from a producer in a neighbouring country.

Background: Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are linked by the Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran railway, part of the North–South corridor. Following the presidents' talks, the delegations exchanged 11 intergovernmental and interagency documents, and Kazakhstan proposed adopting a work plan to increase trade.
