London paparazzi photographed Queen Elizabeth II in an unusual look as she drove out of town in a Range Rover, VRK News.kz reports.
The queen was captured in the front passenger seat, wearing sunglasses and bright lipstick. As People magazine notes, Elizabeth II was heading to the Sandringham estate to celebrate her 96th birthday there. This year she decided to mark her birthday at the residence her late husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, loved to visit.
On Wednesday the monarch travelled from Windsor Castle to her Sandringham estate in Norfolk, about 110 miles north of London. The residence is full of reminders of her late husband, Prince Philip, who died in April 2021 aged 99. The Duke of Edinburgh spent most of his time in a cosy five-bedroom house on a farm on the Sandringham estate.
Sandringham is where the queen and the royal family traditionally celebrate Christmas.
“She doesn't have to be monarch there,” a former estate employee commented on the trip. “She can be Elizabeth rather than the queen.”
Meanwhile, the official Twitter and Instagram pages of the royal family, which represent the queen and other senior members of the royal family, joined in the celebration of the queen's birthday by posting a black-and-white photograph of the monarch in 1928, when she was only two years old. The then Princess Elizabeth, with sweet curls on the top of her head, smiles sweetly at the camera, resting her head on both hands.
Happy Birthday Your Majesty!

Today as The Queen turns 96, we’re sharing this photograph of the young Princess Elizabeth aged 2.

And here is another picture, taken last month in the grounds of Windsor Castle, showing the animal-loving queen standing proudly between her ponies, Bybeck Katie and Bybeck Nightingale. She was dressed in a dark green cape-style coat and stood holding the reins of her two favourite ponies in front of a magnolia.
