From 8 to 11 October, Ukrainian drones, according to Russian media, attacked Yandex data centres in the Ryazan, Kaluga and Vladimir regions three times; the facilities' operation was suspended, and there were disruptions in the company's services and those of other organisations.
Vedomosti, citing sources, wrote that by the time of the attacks the company had not managed to renew its insurance against terrorist risks. Yandex denied this: according to the company, its policies cover terrorist attacks, among other things, and it does not disclose the details of its contracts. Russia's Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev called the attack unprecedented and said the ministry had helped find additional sites; key systems, he said, had been moved to backup ones.
