Bishkek, 30 October. Kazakh companies signed commercial agreements and contracts worth 95 million dollars following a trade and economic mission to Bishkek held as part of the Second Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Trade and Integration said.

The mission was organised by the ministry and QazTrade, the Trade Policy Development Centre; about 80 Kazakh companies in engineering, food and processing, construction, IT and logistics took part. Kazakhstan’s Hyundai Trans Auto and Kyrgyzstan’s Trust Technologies agreed on supplies of cars, special and commercial vehicles and service development. QazTrade signed memoranda with Kyrgyzstan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kyrgyz Agroholding. “Our task is to ensure their practical implementation and help Kazakh companies gain a foothold in the Kyrgyz market,” said QazTrade chief executive Nurlan Kulbatyrov.

What it means: The intergovernmental council’s 3-billion-dollar trade target is starting to be backed by concrete contracts, although 95 million dollars so far amounts to about 4% of current annual trade.

Who benefits: Kazakh producers gain new orders. Kyrgyz buyers gain vehicles and products with nearby service. How far the agreements turn into deliveries will show in trade statistics.

Background: In 2025 trade between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan grew by 33% to 2.4 billion dollars. On 30 October the prime ministers signed the protocol of the 14th intergovernmental council; the key joint project is a cross-border industrial trade and logistics complex in Zhambyl region.
