Astana, 5 November, . The Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 4 November discussed how Kazakhstan’s embassies and missions will attract investors and technology for the tasks of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address, the ministry said.
Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi chaired the meeting. It was held by videoconference with heads of ministry departments, embassies and permanent missions abroad. They reviewed the practical implementation of the National Plan for carrying out the Address “Pressing Tasks of Kazakhstan in the New Historical Cycle” and of the Comprehensive Plan of information and image work to explain and promote its key points abroad.
Tleuberdi noted that the Address was announced in the year of the 35th anniversary of Independence and stressed that all of the ministry’s current and future activity must be mobilised and coordinated to implement it. The main emphasis of the ministry and its missions, in his words, is attracting investment and localising production: active search for investors, transfer of technology and know-how within the “Nationwide Big Construction”, including comprehensive equipping of social, engineering and transport infrastructure. The minister separately set the task of attracting foreign partners to projects in digitalisation, artificial intelligence and “green” energy and of promoting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and other transit corridors. The course of strengthening good-neighbourly relations, developing transit and logistics potential and deepening industrial cooperation with strategic partners will continue. The leadership of the ministry will keep the implementation of the Address under constant control.
What it means: The ministry is turning the Address into working tasks for its missions: investors and technology for the “Nationwide Big Construction”, partners for digitalisation, artificial intelligence and “green” energy, and transit corridors. The report gives no deadlines, indicators or names of specific projects.
Who benefits: According to the ministry, first of all projects of the “Nationwide Big Construction” that need foreign investors and technology. The ministry did not specify which projects or what amounts are meant.
