Turkistan, November 6. The final of the Kazakhstan Cup in football will be held on November 7 at 16:00 at the Turkistan Arena stadium: Shymkent’s Ordabasy will meet Kyzylorda’s Kaisar, the Football Federation of Kazakhstan said.

The match will be shown by the QazSport channel, and tickets are on sale through Yandex Afisha. Ordabasy finished the 2026 Kazakhstan championship first with 68 points, while Kaisar finished last with 25 points in 30 rounds, Sports.kz notes. This season the Shymkent side beat its opponent twice: 2:0 at home and 4:1 away. Winning the Cup would give Ordabasy its first league and cup “golden double” in ten years, since Astana.

The result also affects a third team. Ordabasy has already secured European football as champion, so if it wins the Cup the extra Conference League place goes to Okzhetpes, who finished fourth. If Kaisar wins, it goes to Europe, but as a First League team, Sports.kz writes. Kaisar was taken over by Talgat Baysufinov, former head coach of the Kazakhstan national team, two rounds before the end of the championship. Ordabasy head coach Andrey Martin said at the pre-match press event that the team’s thoughts were all on tomorrow’s game and hoped for a full stadium, the club said.

What it means: The best and the worst team of the season meet in one match, and the stakes are higher than the trophy: the result decides which club goes to European competition. By Sports.kz’s assessment, Ordabasy is the favourite, but in a single match that can go to penalties a surprise is possible.

Who benefits: Ordabasy: a possible “golden double”; Okzhetpes: a Conference League place if Ordabasy wins the Cup; Kaisar: a chance to play in Europe despite losing its Premier League place.

Background: KPL is the Kazakhstan Premier League, the top division. A “golden double” is winning the championship and the Cup in one season. Turkistan hosts the final even though the city had no club in KPL 2026. The Conference League is UEFA’s third-tier club competition.
