Background: KEGOC is the joint-stock company that runs Kazakhstan’s national electricity grid: it transmits electricity over trunk lines and dispatches the power system. In Tajikistan one ministry is responsible for both electricity and water: most of the republic’s electricity is generated at hydroelectric stations, that is, from water.
